DESCRIPTIONS:
Jumping Fences explores the influence of graffiti and street art on and within contemporary art culture, as well as the growing media acceptance and commercialization of a once-demonized medium. The documentary footage is framed within a graphic world, where animation comments on the artists’ words. The video features interviews with successful artists whose work started in the street—such as Blek leRat, Lady Pink, and the currently famous/notorious Shepard Fairey.
