Anybody who's read and of the Ryan's
Story stuff ([link]) knows that Ryan has more reason than most kids his age to be all angsty and emo. Guess it was about time I drew an emo version of him. This probably takes place some time after chapter 13 when Ryan is starting to feel the pressure of his situation. Spent about an hour on the eye and couldn't get it right. Still looks a little weird. Made a few changes. Originally, he was wearing a red sleeveless hoodie over a black short sleeved t-shirt. But after colouring it, it just didn't look "
emo" enough so I changed it to a black short-sleeved hoodie/t-shirt. The background is a photo of the beach at Looe in Cornwall. Looe is the real-world location used as a model for Cliffport in the Ryan's Story series. The graffiti tag on the sign (which reads "No Ball Games No Skateboarding") reads "Ryebread", which is Ryan's childhood nickname.
